Popular street artist BumblebeeLovesYou, who hails from Downey, is opening a new solo show Thursday January 23 in Los Angeles. Opening reception bee-gins at 6PM, at 4621 W. Washington Blvd, just past downtown.
Bumblebee began his career placing illustrations in a cut-out stencil style on walls around Downey and the surrounding areas. His art has bee-come recognized nationally, and became the subject of a HandiMade documentary screened here at the Epic Lounge. To celebrate his work, the property owner of the Epic Lounge on 2nd street allowed a new mural to be painted by the anonymous street artist, visible from Downey Avenue.
